2025 TOURNAMENT RULES AND
REGULATIONS
1. All scheduled tournaments shall be played utilizing ALL USGA rules unless noted otherwise Noted. We play tee to cup. Putt out everything.
2. There is a mandatory $30.00 tournament fee for each one-day tournaments per player; $40 for two-day tournaments and $50 for the End of Season tournament.
3. All rules will be given to players for each tournament on the day of the tournament, each member is to make sure they understand all specific event rules prior to teeing off. Going forward a video shall be posted on the group chat with all respective rules. Any questions shall be asked in the group chat as well.
4. Prior to teeing off on the first hole of each tournament round each group member must identify to their respective group what type of ball they are playing and what identifying markings that they have on each ball.
5. All tees shall be determined based on the slope rating from 125-135. Flight 1 and 2 will always play from slope rating 125-135 and Flight 3 shall play one tee box up from Flight 1 and 2. This rule shall not be in effect for the iron man tournament, go low tournament, or if Flight 1 and 2 are playing from the forward (white) tee, which in that case all flights will play from the same tee box.
6. All FHGG members that are 65 years of age and older shall be deemed seniors by the FHGG Group and shall have the option to play from one forward tee box from their respective flight; this will not be a tournament by tournament option but they shall make their decision to the tournament committee prior to the first tournament if they would like to utilize the option. This rule shall not be in effect for the iron man tournament, go low tournament, if a senior is in Flight 3, or if Flight 1 and 2 are playing from the forward (white) tees, which in that case all seniors will play from the same tee box.
7. A player who misses their designated tee time will receive a score of double par (for the hole) plus two for each hole and then will rejoin their designated group on the next hole. We ask that all members arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to their tee time. (i.e., if the first hole is a par 4 and you miss the first hole you receive a score of 10 for the hole.)
8. All members shall have two requests per season to be placed in the first two groups or last two groups based on need for that respective tournament. Every effort will be made by the tournament committee to accommodate this ask but FHGG asks that all members always set the respective amount time aside for tournament day.
9. After each hole each group member is to announce their score and verify/validate other group member's scores. After the completion of the front and back nine group members are to verify/validate each other’s scores prior to turning cards into the tournament committee. The same person who marks the official card cannot be the same person who enters the scores into golf genius.
10. Prior to teeing off each group member is to verify they only have 14 clubs in their golf bag per USGA rules.
11. When inputting scores onto the scorecards members are to put the ACTUAL score down (i.e., on a par four if a member receives a par place a "4" down on the card). One member shall be designated to input the scores in the Golf Genius App. Members shall input scores into the Golf Genius app immediately on the tee box of the next hole.
12. There will be a new All Gross flight that will be optional. The prize pool shall be all funded by
additional tournament fee ($20) by all players playing in the optional Flight. There will be the same points system utilized but separate for only the Gross flight. You will automatically be in a Net Flight and again this is an additional optional flight. There will be a tournament prize for the All-Gross flight that will be based on participation.
13. Our goal is to play a round in the most efficient time possible (4 hours and 15 minutes goal), this being said each player needs to play ready Golf. Ready golf is simply to play your shot when ready if the others are not prepared at the time to play their ball. This also means that looking for ball that may be lost is strongly adhered to the 3-minute rule time-frame per the USGA. There should only be a max of two people looking for a lost ball to help with pace of play.
14. The Handicap System, for the 2025 season will be utilizing the USGA GHIN system. Any member that does not put in scores or puts in fictious scores shall be reprimanded by the FHGG GHIN committee and the FHGG Board. All scores shall be inputted utilizing the hole-by-hole method so that the system may utilize equitable stroke as it is intended to do. The group shall use the 90% rule (90% of your playing handicap) for all tournaments for an equitable system as recommended by the GHIN system for the group due to our handicap makeup. All Fore Horseman members that do not have an active GHIN must submit into the GHIN a minimum of 3
sanctioned rounds to generate their 2025 Fore Horseman Handicap prior to April 1. Should you not reach the minimal amount of rounds you will start the season at a 0 handicap until the minimal 3 rounds are meet. Sanctioned round consists of any 18 hole round completed from Jan 1, 2025 to April 1, 2025 and played with at least 2 Fore Horseman members. (That can be yourself and 1 other member) Members must play in the same pairings/group for your scores to be eligible for submission into the GHIN.
15. All FHGG members are accountable for inputting their respective scores for all rounds that they play tee to cup into the GHIN system (hole by hole on the day of the round) and there will be penalties for those who are repeat offenders for not doing so; this also includes 9-hole rounds as well. In an effort to make sure all handicaps are equitable All FHGG members are to input scores from ALL rounds played into the GHIN App immediately after a round is completed If a member fails to do so and the FHGG GHIN committee is made aware a warning shall be made and the member will be told and it will be posted on the business GroupMe chat If this infraction is done again the aforementioned member shall have their GHIN locked at their respective lowest differential index minus one for a period of 3 months. This same scenario shall occur for false scores that are inputted as well. We are asking all FHGG members to abide by these rules as well as keep all members accountable for following these rules.
16. If the course we are playing has deemed cart path only we shall utilize lift clean and place in the fairway ONLY within one club length. If water is in bunker find a location in bunker without water. If no spot available drop behind no closer the hole outside of bunker. If the tournament committee deems the course extremely saturated, we will play lift, clean and place all over except in hazards. FHGG also allows for a scorecard relief from all rocks and roots that are not within a hazard, and relief from divots in the fairway rolling within a scorecard (Always verify with a respective playing fore-some member before moving the ball.
17. Bunkers shall be played as lift, rake and place within one scorecard of where the ball rests in the bunker. There is also relief from abnormal conditions (such as foot prints, rocks, visible covering, etc).
18. To qualify for the End of the Season Tournament a member must play in a minimum of 6 tournaments. If you don’t qualify you still may play in the tournament but cannot be eligible for points.
19. During times of inclement weather, the tournament and rules committees shall meet 3 hours prior to the tournament time to determine if the tournament shall be cancelled or still go forward during the time of the inclement weather. If the tournament is cancelled the tournament committee shall reschedule that tournament for a later date.
20. All tournament fees, and optional games shall be paid to the Fore Horsemen two (2) weeks prior to the tournament. Going forward all payments shall be automated and paid thru the Fore Horsemen website or Golf Genius. No one will pay green fees at a course unless they have a membership and they are getting a reduced rate, but this must be disclosed in advance to the tournament committee. Only if there is a dire proven emergency can a refund be given to a club member. When a closing date is reached there will be NO exceptions for late adds. Refunds for the tournament fee and optional games for last minute cancels shall be decided by the board and must be for extreme valid reasons. Golf Genius tournament software acceptance of playing shall be made 2 weeks prior to the tournament as well. All pairings will be posted prior to 6:00 p.m.
that Friday prior to the tournament. All handicaps will be pulled on Friday mornings. (OPTIONAL games are due with the tournament fee as well, Closest to the Pin - $5; Gross Skins - $20; Net Skins - $20; Team, Liv tournament - $25 per team (paid by the captain)). For Net Skins the max allowed strokes will be 18 strokes. There will be an optional Big Boy Skin - $50 taken up the day of the tournament that will be totally separate from the aforementioned optional games.
21. Cheating of any kind shall not be tolerated in the Fore Horsemen Golf Group. All excessive violators shall meet with by the Group's Board to discuss. The first offense is suspension for that respective tournament with no points. The second offense shall result in suspension from the group for a year.
22. There will be a total of 13 tournaments for the season. nine (9) single day tournaments, two( 2) - two-day tournaments , one two(2) day Ryder Cup and the End of the Season Tournament shall consist of 54 holes (3 days at 18 holes per day). For each tournament players receive points based on the FHGG FedEx Points System. If a player plays only one day of a two-day tournament, they still will have to pay the tournament fee and will not receive any points for that respective tournament.
23. Ties for all events shall be handled by Last 9 holes, Last 6 holes, Last 3 holes , and then last hole.
24. There will be cash prizes gives for each of the tournaments equating to $100 for the overall Low Net person in all respective flights. There will also be $100 given to the overall Low net winner. You can win overall low net and low net for your Flight in a tournament. This is a total of $400 per tournament.
25. There will be 3 Flights for the tournaments, all based on Net. You will be placed in a flight based on your handicap on April 1, 2025; prior to the first tournament. Lowest Handicap Flight 1 (Thoroughbreds); Middle Flight 2 (Stallions); Flight 3 (Mustangs). We will take the number of members we have all divided as equal as possible by your Handicap into a flight. After you are placed in a flight you will stay in that respective flight for the remainder of the season.
26. There are three flights and each flight shall have their own low net and own respective points system. The overall Low net shall have its own respective points as well.
27. End of Year Payouts shall be the following:
Overall Group Low Net – All members – 25% of the Prize pool

**A player can win overall Low Group Net and Low Net or any place in their respective Flights or any other place in a flight**
The Low Gross Flight (self-funded) shall pay First Place 80%; Second Place 20%. As Low Gross is a fully separate flight someone can win first place Low Gross and Low Net as well.
28. The End of Season shall be shown on the schedule, and a $200 non-refundable deposit shall be due prior to May 31,2025 to go towards the trip. This will be highly enforced this year.
29. 2024 Membership Fees are $250 for returning members and $350 for all new members. Fees are due in full by January 15, 2025, no exceptions.
30. There will be a LIV style team game that shall consist of eight (8) teams. The Team captains shall be the top 4 overall net finishers from last year from each flight (total of 8) and a draft shall occur prior to the season. The top four (4) net scores from team shall be used to go toward the overall respective team score. The team with the highest points totals at the end of the year shall win the entire pot. Five ($5) dollars from each tournament fee shall go towards an overall pot for overall Team winners. The LIV team game shall end the tournament before the End of the Season. There will also be an OPTIONAL LIV Team competition per tournament that shall cost each team twenty-five ($25). There will be only 8 teams in the 2025 season and four team members scores will be utilized for the team score for that respective tournament. The team with the lowest combined 4 net scores shall win the entire pot for that tournament. Points will be given for each tournament based on team scores. 1st – 14 points; 2nd – 12 points; 3rd – 10 points; 4th – 8 points; 5th – 6
points ; 6th – 4 points; 7th - 2 points; 8th – 1 point. If a team does not have 4 teams members show up for a tournament +5 will be added to the highest net score to be allocated to make up to the 4 team members. Example team only has 3 people show; shoot -1, +2, +3 net; the missing fourth would be +3 and add 5 for a +8 for the missing team member.
31. The Ryder cup tournament shall have four teams. The top four low net persons in the Group low overall points system at the time of the tournament before the Ryder Cup shall be deemed the respective captains and shall have a draft to make their teams. There shall be a 36-hole competition (2- Day) with formats to be explained at a later date. Points shall be awarded to each player as their team places in finishing order.
32. There will be an option for people to join the Fore Horsemen as a Social Member in the 2025 Season. The cost shall be $100.00 and it gives someone an opportunity to play in tournaments only with the Group. All social group players shall play in separate groups in all cases.
33. There will be an OPTION to pay your tournament fees in three installments and save money. Payments shall be $100 by April 1, $125 by June 1, and $125 by August 1; this will give you a $50 discount. This does not include the end of season tournament fee. You can use tournament and optional game winnings (banked funds) to go towards these payments if you choose to do so. Again, this is an optional item for members.
